I specialize in infant feeding and fourth trimester care.
Over the past decade, I have helped thousands of new and expecting families, just like yours, to prepare for the new addition to their family, maximize their milk supply, troubleshoot their feeding challenges, bust breastfeeding myths, cut through the overwhelm, bond as a family, and maintain as much sanity and balance as possible throughout their baby’s first year.
If feeding time isn’t easy, you aren’t alone!
We’ve been sold the idea that, since breast/chest feeding is natural, it should come easily. We grow up cradling baby dolls that seem to readily drink up the milk in their tiny toy bottles. Because of this, many of us assume that our child will take the wheel when it comes to feeding time — as if they’ve been reading a pint-sized feeding manual while in the womb.
The truth is that many new families struggle with their feeding journey, no matter whether they choose the breast or the bottle.
It can be difficult to find comprehensive, evidence-based support that prepares you for infant feeding. It’s not uncommon for frustrated new parents to visit multiple practitioners looking for the key to successful feeding, only to be told twenty different things — none of which work for their little one! You may be told that your baby has a tongue or lip tie, only to find out later that they don’t (or vice versa). You may be told that nipple pain is inevitable and that you’ll just have to get used to it (thankfully, not true!). You may feel as though the people who are trying to help you aren’t actually listening to you — or that they don’t support your feeding preferences.
Confusing advice, incorrect diagnoses, rushing from one appointment to the next… and all of this on far too little sleep. Is it any wonder that you’re feeling overwhelmed?
I believe that new parents deserve more. More support, more understanding, and better results.
